About Our Job
One position is unlimited, and one position is a limited position with an expected end date of December 31, 2020.
In general, the Engineer - Wastewater (Plans Review) will review, evaluate and comment on complex storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water quality construction plans, drainage reports, and sanitary sewer studies as submitted by privatesector engineers for conformance with Public Works standards for development within Denver.
The position will also participate in design coordination meetings regarding private development projects in order to lead the Site Engineering development process, ensure timely approval and completion of projects, and resolve any complex engineering issues.
Additionally, this position will interact with the general public, professional design consultants, project managers, contractors, and elected officials to communicate regulatory and code requirements and interpretations, and participate in negotiations for special considerations on unique projects.
About You
Our ideal candidate for Engineering will have: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Work experience in design, plan review and/or inspection of storm & sanitary sewer facilities, erosion and sediment control (including MS4 experience), water quality, detention and/or utility plans. Experience in Denver is a plus.
Excellent customer service skills; the successful candidate will thrive while working with people and must demonstrate ease in these interactions.
MS Outlook, Excel, database, AutoCAD or other technology solutions
Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling including preparation of reports
Technical writing, development of design drawings and specifications
GIS experience

Education Requirement
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
Experience Requirement
Four (4) years' experience as an entry level Engineer.
Education & Experience Equivalency
No substitution of experience for education is permitted.
Additional appropriate education may be substituted for experience requirements.
Licensure & Certification
By position, may require a Colorado Class R Driver's License by the completion of probation.
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the Colorado State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers at the time of application. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by another state will be accepted in lieu of this requirement providing the applicant is registered by the State of Colorado by the completion of the probationary period.
Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.

Hiring Range: $72,414.00 - $94,138.00/annually
