This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated engineer to join our team locally with support from one of the best-qualified municipal consulting firms in the country. The Engineer along with the support of a strong nationally recognized staff, will be able to grow their expertise and technical knowledge of water treatment design & construction engineering. The Engineer would be a critical member of Water Divisionu2019s staff and be expected to support the proven reputation of excellence in Client Management/Development along with the executing projects and managing project pursuits within the municipal Water/Wastewater market of this region. This role is drinking water treatment design/construction focused but other water/wastewater market planning and design experience is appreciated. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Support projects and clients in the planning, design and construction of Water/Wastewater treatment plants, storm water systems, distribution/collection systems, and pump/lift stations as well as creating construction documents, specifications and handling construction oversight/administration. Development of project management skills including support in managing budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment; for project/task scope schedule and budget. Work directly with clients to determine needs and provide solutions. Coordinating multi-disciplined engineering teams. Assist in the development of small to large design projects from inception to completion. May manage and lead the growth of client relationships. Cost estimate development. Responsible for completing design tasks within budget and on schedule. Lead preparation of detailed engineering calculations & analysis. Supports the work of others and mentors junior level engineer & design/drafting technical staff. Required Qualifications Bacheloru2019s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or related field. 5 - 7 years of experience in water / wastewater / stormwater studies, design, and/or construction administration / oversight projects as a Task Manager and/or Design Engineer, on a variety projects, from small to larger in size. Project experience including design and construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities; focused on expansion, rehabilitation, and retrofit is a plus. Current PE License in AL or ability to obtain with 12 months. Technical engineering skills in the W/WW practice area. Experience in development project drawings, specifications, schedules and cost estimates. Functional experience with MS Office applications. Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills. Flexible to work with different project teams present locally and across remote offices. Self-motivated in improving team and personal performance. Required Driving Statement This position requires a current valid driveru2019s license and clean driving record. Preferred Qualifications Masters or MBA. Strong team leadership experience or proven potential; including managing project delivery expectations, prioritization of tasks, and mentoring. Experience or desire for client facing role with skills to include; preparation and development of proposals, managing client expectations and overall relationship.
