The Water & Environment Business Unit has an immediate opening in the Detroit, Michigan

office for a Lead Water/Wastewater Engineer/Designer

. The candidate will be responsible for civil design tasks for projects involving water distribution systems, sanitary sewer systems, pump stations, water and wastewater facilities, drainage systems, as well as storm water management designs.

Position Description:

•Participate on project teams to plan and design municipal storm water, water and wastewater infrastructure

•Prepare contract documents including reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates

•Use AutoCADD and/or Revit as well as GIS software an integral part of the design work

•Complete technical reports associated with water and wastewater designs

Minimum Experience/Skills Required:

•7-9 years of experience in technical calculations and project design, project management experience is a plus.

•Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification required

•BS (MS preferred) in Civil/Water Resources/Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited Engineering program.

•Project experience in the following areas is desirable:

•Potable water distribution systems, and wastewater conveyance systems and pump stations

•Stormwater drainage

•Water and wastewater treatment process

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•A willingness to learn in a professional engineering environment

Job Requirements

Desired Qualifications:

•10 years of experience in water and wastewater infrastructure design

•Michigan Professional Engineer Certification

•Experience with design of large water distribution projects

•Stormwater and drainage experience using hydrologic and hydraulic software

•Knowledge of AutoCAD and ESRI GIS a plus

•Affiliations with professional societies and active industry and community involvement are highly desirable
