Primary Responsibilities


primary duties of this position are to serve the dual roles of marketing and

project delivery for both Water and Wastewater opportunities.  Marketing responsibilities include meeting with and interacting with clients to

identify potential opportunities, working with leadership to evaluate those

opportunities as potential pursuits, developing those opportunities by

identifying pursuit strategies, working with leadership to develop project

marketing and technical approaches for projects, establish project teams and

qualifications, and proposal development.


the project delivery side, the primary duties of the Water and Wastewater

Project Manager will include planning, directing and monitoring all aspects of

medium to large water and wastewater treatment projects with moderate degrees

of technical complexity. More specifically, under the direction of a Project Principal,

the Project Manager will be expected to independently lead and supervise teams

of engineers, environmental specialists, and CAD and GIS professionals to

develop master plans, designs, plans, specifications and construction cost

estimates for water and wastewater pipeline, pump station, and treatment

projects, and related systems; to establish project schedules and

responsibility assignments; to develop project design criteria, schematics and

methods; to perform or oversee process design, sizing and hydraulic

calculations; to prepare preliminary design and other engineering reports; to

determine and write engineering specifications; to oversee the production of

design drawings; developing and executing QA/QC plans for each project; and to

work directly with the client to ensure that the project meets or exceeds the client’s


','!*!Required Qualifications   BS Engineering required, MS preferred in Civil, Environmental or Mechanical.  PE license required.   15 years of experience in the planning and design of collection system, distribution system and/or treatment plant projects.Prior experience working with Philadelphia Water Department preferred.  Proven project leadership, project management (staffing, schedule and budget) and mentoring skills.  Ability to manage multiple projects, clients and marketing activities simultaneously.  Software knowledge: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, familiarity with 2D and 3D CAD software (i.e. AutoCadd/Revit).   Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including writing and presentation skills.  Excellent team player with ability to function effectively in a variety of roles on integrated project teams.     Why HDR At HDR, we know work isn’t only about who you work for; it’s also about what you do and how you do it.
