AECOM is seeking an Industrial Wastewater Treatment Supervisor for our operations & maintenance team in Mossville, IL!
Typical work hours are Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm; hours may vary based on business demand.
Reporting to the Facility Site Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing and supervising the day-to-day operations and maintenance activities
related to safety; on-site lab analysis and protocols; influent and effluent wastewater operations; SCADA and automation systems; corrective and preventive maintenance work order execution; and Federal, State and Local jurisdictions’ compliance tracking and reporting.
This position interfaces widely with all levels of AECOM and customer management and may work with outside contractors and vendors for planning and execution of large or complex projects.
Successful candidates who are offered a position must hold a current State of Illinois Class K Wastewater Treatment Operator license, and must obtain an updated site-specific class K license within 120 days of hire.
The Industrial Wastewater Treatment Supervisor supervises, coaches, and mentors a team of operators and manages budget, cost control, planning, scheduling, and procedural changes.
Manages all aspects of the Industrial Waste Water Treatment Plant.
Works with subcontractors to obtain proposals for and management performance of project work.
Supervises, trains, and develops a team of operators and support staff.
Creates and modifies operations procedures for equipment.
Provides recommendations for corrective action.
Manages water sampling, testing and analysis processes and procedures.
Operates and provides training on various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments.
Performs and supervises internal laboratory tests and analyses to ensure compliance with established permit levels.
Maintains control of wastewater treatment processes and effluent wastewater within permitted levels
Ensures compliance to national, state and local codes, regulations and industry standards on all work.
Complies with established Environmental, Safety and Health (EH&S) programs.
Conducts safety training and actively participates in Safety Committee meetings and safety audits.
Safely performs functions of the position to insure adherence to established safety guidelines such as Arcflash safety procedures, job hazards analysis (JHAs), lockout/tagout, and the wearing of appropriate PPE by technicians and subcontractors performing electrical and other work under your direction.

High School Diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
Ten years of progressively responsible industrial wastewater, facilities or production maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, including supervisory experience.
Current State of Illinois Class K Wastewater Treatment Operator license, to be updated site specific within 120 days of hire.

Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to piping color-coding.
Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
State certification or formal training from wastewater treatment organizations.
Current Illinois Non-Transient Drinking Water License Type A, B, C or D, or the ability to obtain within 120 days.
Experience supervising a crew of operators in a Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Experience with Predictive and Preventive maintenance programs.
Experience with SCADA systems.
Experience using a CMMS.
Experience with Clarification and Dissolved Air Floatation.
Knowledge of sanitary treatment processes, including Lagoons and Activated Sludge.
Experience with a Scadaware Process Control Program.
Proficiency with MS Office programs, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends and respond to on-call for emergencies.
