Primary Responsibilities HDR is in need of a Water Resources EIT to join our Water Business Group team in Charlotte, NC. The primary duties of the Water Resources EIT include technical investigation and analysis of various detailed studies and preparing reports relating to stormwater management, drainage system infrastructure, watershed and water supply planning and other environmental matters in the area of water resource management. Provide hydrologic\/hydraulic modeling support for stormwater improvement projects, master plans, flood studies, and similar water resource management projects. Provide design support in preparation of construction documents for public works projects. Provide specialized engineering input as required to other business groups on matters related to environmental engineering. Keep abreast of new technologies and construction practices pertaining to stormwater, water supply infrastructure renewal, replacement and enhancement. Support and advise civil engineers and technical staff in other disciplines and sections, complete technical analysis, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with sub-consultants, support senior staff to maintain project schedules and budgets, and produce documents in accordance with project scopes and quality program procedures. May have periodic contact with clients regarding ongoing projects and tasks. May require occasional field construction inspection. Qualifications Required Qualifications \u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or water related field is required. \u2022 EIT or ability to obtain required. \u2022 Knowledge or experience in watershed management including erosion control, water quality, drainage collection system design, stormwater BMP design, and natural channel design. \u2022 Demonstrated experience in hydrologic\/hydraulic modeling for storm, sanitary, water distribution systems using software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, HydraFlow, or other similar models. \u2022 Proficient knowledge in the use of Excel spreadsheet and database tools, including GIS. Use of AutoCAD for construction drawing development desired. \u2022 Excellent oral and written communication skills. \u2022 Ability to work cooperatively with varying teams and discipline areas. \u2022 Motivation and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must. Preferred Qualifications \u2022 Master\u2019s degree in Engineering is preferred. \u2022 Experience in municipal engineering, with experience in the planning, design and management of natural resources preferred. \u2022 Experience in hydrology and hydraulics applications, the design and analysis of stormwater management facilities, storm sewers and watersheds preferred. \u2022 Preference given to local candidates.
