Kodiak Support Services (KSS), a wholly owned subsidiary of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. s seeking a Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Lead in Kodiak, Alaska. The Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Lead will oversee personnel and operations in the water/wastewater plant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
Responsible for assignment and distribution of work orders, tracking of work orders and PM tasks for the timely completion of work, assuring the quality of work meets or exceeds satisfaction of our customer, the USCG.
Completion of monthly reports
Responsible for daily supervision of work crew.
Must be able to work with customers in a one-on-one situation.
Complete daily plants operations while accomplishing all Lead duties.
Controls treatment plant machines and equipment to purify and clarify water for human consumption and industrial use.
Operates and controls electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate flow of raw water into treatment plant.
Regulate addition of specified amounts of chemicals into tanks to disinfect, deodorize and clarify water.
Operates machinery to mix chemicals and regulate valves to remove impurities.
Pumps purified water into water mains.
Monitors operations of all machinery and output of the plant.
Maintain cleanliness of tanks and all applicable tools and machinery.
Test water samples to determine acidity, color and impurities, using colorimeter, turbidimeter, and conductivity meter.
Regulate chemicals such as polymer into tanks to coagulate impurities.
Record data, such as residual content of chemicals, water turbidity and water pressure
Clean and maintain equipment, tanks, filter beds, and other work areas
Follow U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation regulations
Ensure safety standards are met.

Job Requirements :
Required (Minimum) Qualifications:
High School Completion or GED Equivalent.
5 Years Experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (minimum qualifications):
40 Hr HAZWOPPER certification
ISC-200 Training
Alaska State Water treatment level 3 and Wastewater treatment level 2 licensing or equivalent licensing that will be recognized by the State of Alaska
Valid Commercial Alaska Driver’s License with Tank Endorsement
Must be able to clearly communicate (orally and written) in the English language
Must be able to work independently
Must have good documentation and organizational skills
Must be able to respond to calls for work outside of normal working hours
Must be able to clearly communicate by radio
Must be familiar with Microsoft programs
Must have a high level of professionalism and customer care
Must have experience at a Water and Wastewater Plant of comparable size and type to the facilities at USCG Base Kodiak’s direct filtration, pressurized water filter and aerobic digestion with uv wastewater treatment plant.

Job is performed in an industrial water and wastewater plants setting. Includes working outdoors in inclement weather.

Supervises Plant operators and apprentices
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
