We are currently seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Manager for our Chicago office to lead and deliver water and wastewater projects in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. This position is responsible for the development and management of all aspects of municipal and industrial water supply and wastewater systems project planning, design, and construction. The Project Manager will have a Midwestern US network of water/wastewater connections and regional expertise in one or more of the following:

Water supply and treatment

Water transmission and distribution

Pump Stations

Wastewater conveyance

Elimination of CSO

Wastewater treatment

Reuse of nutrients and biogases

Residuals handling

Beneficial reuse of effluents

Essential duties include:

Leading team delivery of water and/or wastewater projects including evaluation and detailed design of water and wastewater treatment plants, water reuse systems, and conveyance projects.

Preparing master planning reports and documentation required for grants and loans.

Participating in local professional organizations, preparing, and presenting market specific papers and presentations.

Assisting in marketing business opportunities with key clients and development of responses to RFP/RFQs.

Providing marketing, technical leadership, and support during the procurement and execution of projects.

Developing long term relationships with clients.

Assisting clients with permitting, property acquisition, and stakeholder involvement.

Successfully interfacing with multi-disciplinary design teams.

Consistently managing and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Mentoring junior engineers


Job requirements include:

BS degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

MS degree in Environmental Engineering preferred, but not required

A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience

PE license/registration required; IL PE preferred

Possess an Illinois, Indiana, or Wisconsin network of water/wastewater connections

Regional expertise in one or more areas of water supply, treatment, storage and distribution; and wastewater conveyance, CSO, treatment, reuse, and residuals handling

Technical expertise

Possess strong verbal, computer, and organizational skills

Excellent technical writing skills

Strong client relationship skills

Design team leadership skills
