JMT seeks a Wastewater Process Senior Project Manager in the Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey Region to continue the growth of our emerging corporate profile that incorporates our diverse skills and capabilities through our existing presence within these States. This position offers the right candidate a great opportunity to join a progressive, employee-owned, flexible firm as we continue to grow. This individual will manage the business development activity and will direct engineering and production as we serve our local and regional wastewater utility clients in the Region. Candidate will be responsible for the overall development of the wastewater process divisions growth and leadership through project execution. The candidate will possess or develop a regional industry leadership role and be responsible for building a technical wastewater process engineering staff and integrating into our existing water/wastewater engineering practice. Travel requirements for this position will include to other regional offices and clients’ facilities.
Marketing / business development to establish JMT’s market presence with new and existing wastewater clients. Building on existing utility engineering contracts and clientele
Assessing the regional market, preparing, maintaining and executing a development plan tailored to the technical capabilities of JMT and the wastewater utility needs of the market
Preparing statements of qualifications, expressions of interest, technical proposals and presentations
Projecting and advancing JMT presence in the market through meaningful participation in water utility industry leadership and activities
Assisting in the recruiting, training, mentoring, and supervision of staff
Supervising the preparation of preliminary and final studies and reports, engineering drawings and specifications, and cost estimates for water infrastructure projects
Performing project management duties, including client and sub-consultant coordination; coordinating with public agencies; attending client meetings; and visiting job sites
Preparing estimates, establishing cost controls and maintaining project budgets and schedules; implementing quality control practices; managing and controlling sub-consultant contracts
Ability to analyze and track client capital programs and budgets and develop and execute project teaming strategies, proposal coordination, to secure contracts to serve those needs
Proven successful performance, developing clients, and successfully delivering projects
Understanding of consulting engineering business, and P/L structure and principles
Comprehensive command of wastewater utility engineering challenges faced by water managers in the 21st century
Established working knowledge of water/wastewater utility management principles and organization, operations and technologies
Possess specific wastewater facility market knowledge within the Region
Comprehensive knowledge of the following subject and practice areas: wastewater process design, assessment, performance, operations, troubleshooting, mechanical systems, nutrient loading parameters, nutrient credit analysis, USDA funding, pumping stations, water reclamation and reuse, biosolids recovery and beneficial reuse, process optimization and energy management
BS in Civil Engineering or related field, from an accredited engineering program
PE registration in Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey
12 plus years of consulting or municipal experience with an emphasis on water/wastewater clientele (plant operations, engineering, consulting, and/or management)
Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
