SUMMARY
Global Management Services, LLC is seeking a Relief Water Treatment Plant Operator.  The Relief Water Treatment Plant Operator will assist in the performance of Global Management Services, LLC operations requirements in support of the Yuma Desalting Plant (YDP) Operations and Maintenance Support Services Contract.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate and maintain the Yuma Desalting Plant, Water Quality Improvement Center
Support the operations and maintenance of the Yuma Desalting Plant Production Facility
Support the operations and maintenance of the Yuma Area Office drinking water system
Perform routine and non-routine inspections of the entire water treatment facility
Collect and run routine bench top analysis of various water treatment samples
Collect, document and report operating conditions of specific water treatment equipment and systems
Recorded routine and non-routine activities during scheduled shifts  
Perform housekeeping assignments as required for the water treatment facility
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
Required (Minimum) Qualifications
Grade 2 Arizona Department of Environmental Quality Water Treatment Certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
Experience with operating and maintaining conventional pretreatment water systems
Experience with reverse osmosis systems
Valid Arizona Driver’s License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent customer service skills, including verbal communication and interpersonal relations skills
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Basic analytical and creative problem solving skills, along with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites software
Basic chemistry background
Preferred
Higher level water treatment certifications are preferred
Knowledge of SCADA control systems from a user standpoint is desired
Preferred but not required a background in Chemical Engineering

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; Time is spent in both an office and a field setting.  Candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
Job is performed in an office and field setting.  During work in the field setting, the candidate will be exposed to an environment typical of the southwest desert.   The candidate may also at times be required to work around chemicals typical of a water treatment facility
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversight of WQIC Operator required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
Candidate must also pass a Government Minimum Level Background Investigation.
As a condition of employment, the candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check to obtain access to the YDP.  Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
