We are seeking a Construction Resident Project Representative (RPR)/Inspector based in Punta Gorda, FL. The RPR/Inspector will provide daily construction inspection services to enforce specified contract requirements.
Act as Engineer’s agent at the site in observing progress and quality of work.
Report and work with construction managers employed by Owner.
Attend progress meetings, job conferences and other related meetings. Prepare meeting minutes and distribute to all attendees.
Record dates of received samples, approved shop drawings, correspondence and deliveries.
Maintain at the site orderly files of all project related activities and correspondence.
Prepare Daily Reports of all construction activities and job related correspondence.
Consider, evaluate and report to Engineer contractor’s suggestions for modifications to the drawings and/or specifications.
Conduct daily inspections and report to Engineer any work that does not comply with the intent of the Conformed Documentation and/or approved submittals.
Observe field and utility testing for compliance (concrete, soil, compaction, air, vacuum, pressure, infiltration, exfiltration, disinfection, etc.) and report any deficiencies to Engineer.
Prepare monthly progress reports and present to Engineer for client meetings.
Review contractor progress payment request. Review stored materials, installed quantities and/or percent complete items.
Witness and review manufacturer’s demonstration testing and prepare report to Engineer.
High school diploma, or G.E.D., plus 10 years of experience in the construction field with water and/or wastewater treatment plant experience (treatment processes, chemical feed systems, buildings, concrete structures, ground storage tanks, water mains, process piping and chemical feed piping).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of engineering plans, specifications, practices and methods.
Knowledge of construction standards, inspection methods and techniques.
Self-confident with the ability to communicate effectively with project managers, client staff and contractor’s superintendent.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft applications and Critical Path Method scheduling.
Ability to work nights and weekends as the project requires.
