Position Summary

Do you have experience working with “numbers”? Are you the kind of person who can take data, analyze it and turn it into actionable results? Would you like to gain experience in the healthcare industry? We are looking for an analyst to join our healthcare informatics team who strives to meet deadlines and likes to dig in to data to solve problems!

The senior health care analyst is responsible for conducting health care data analyses and supporting objectives and goals within our managed care setting.  You will need to demonstrate a thorough understanding of data and the ability to analyze data to support quality of care reporting in order to be successful in this position. We will rely on your ability to present data in a meaningful way using SAS, SQL, and the Microsoft Office Suite of tools. You will collaboratively work with business users and more experienced analysts on a variety of analytical projects and assignments.

Detailed Job Duties:

Work with less experienced analysts to develop sound methodologies for extracting data and presenting information to facilitate decision-making

Effectively partners with customers to discover needs; independently and proactively offers options and solutions

Analyzes, researches, and interprets results, variances, and trends

Demonstrate a familiarity with data visualization techniques, as defined by objectives of business users

Creating report summaries and narratives to explain findings and express recommendations for action or further analysis

Advanced knowledge and experience with Excel

Knowledge and experience with SQL or SAS

Interpret data and provide written report summaries

Develop a strong understanding of DHP analytic environment including the data model, file structure, and field content

Delivers on expectations and commitments in a timely manner; follows through on agreed upon assignments without deviation

Perform other duties, tasks or special assignments, as assigned

Job Requirements

Requires knowledge of planning, measurement and analysis typically gained through a technical, business or scientific Bachelor’s Degree. Bachelor’s degree at minimum is required

Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in business or scientific computer data applications and be skilled in using analysis to draw conclusions from data.

Must demonstrate effective communication, consulting, interpersonal, and presentation skills

Strong organizational skills are required

Must demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and exceptional customer service

Effective at identifying problems and providing solutions to those problems

Continuous Learner: Desire to learn continuously, to develop oneself and to keep current with business, industry, and technology trends

Judgment: Ability to guide customers toward the right questions and methodology to provide actionable answers

Able to perform data profiling and monitor data for changes

Valid driver's license and personal, reliable vehicle required for work related travel to fulfill job responsibilities.

Preferred Skills:

Ability and desire to mentor less experienced staff

Healthcare analytic or consulting experience

Familiarity with: Business Objects WEBI, Crystal Reports, MedInsight
