HDR has an immediate opportunity for a Water Resources Engineer in its Omaha, NE office with experience in the following areas:
Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeling and Analysis
Flood Control Facility Analysis, Design and Inspection
Streambank Stabilization and Erosion Control
Stormwater Management Plans
Water Supply Analysis
Design Drawings and Specifications
Sediment Transport and Geomorphologic Analysis
Drainage Study Reports
Storm Sewer Analyses and Design
Duties will include working with project engineers on the application of various engineering design and hydraulic modeling techniques in the development and analysis of water resources projects. More specific duties include: development of urban and rural hydrologic and hydraulic models to assess storm water collection systems and detention basins, development of 1D/2D hydraulic models to assess project impacts to floodplains and dam and levee breach modeling, development of hydrologic and hydraulic models to assess hydraulic performance and scour potential at bridges, performance of channel stability and geomorphic assessments. Projects may also include flood control, stream grade control structures, agricultural and urban stormwater BMPs, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration, watershed issues, data collection, assimilation and presentations.','!*!Required Qualifications
Requires a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Masters degree strongly preferred. PE.5 years of experience. Demonstrated working skills with hydraulic modeling software including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoHMS, HEC GeoRAS, InfoWorks or XP-SWMM.Familiarity with GIS tools like ArcGIS is also a plus. Self motivated able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task. Strong written and verbal communication capabilities and leadership skills are desired. #LI-MB2
