Profile

Description Operates a water treatment facility following company, local, state and federal regulations, policies and procedures to ensure environmental compliance. Includes the collection of water samples, recording data and assisting with preparing regulatory reports, adjusting chemical feed rates, and other similar duties. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (include the following, but other duties may be assigned) Perform critical testing of facility operations, such as pH, turbidity, chlorine, fluoride residual, alkalinity, etc. in order to monitor system condition.u00a0 Keep complete, accurate, legible records of all phases of facility operations Keep complete, accurate, legible records of all equipment and plant maintenance.u00a0 Assist to prepare monthly written operating report based on facilityu2019s operation and/or maintenance records for the client, employer or regulatory agency as required.u00a0 Inform Chief Operator, Maintenance Manager, or Project Manager in a timely manner of plant problems, upsets, plant expansion, repairs, etc.u00a0 Work conscientiously and be aware of safety hazards.u00a0 Be prepared to discuss in a professional manner the plant operations with employer, client, visitors or regulatory personnel. Collect required samples, log in samples correctly and accurately and submit samples to laboratory and review results to ensure permit compliance.u00a0 Operate plant to meet all regulatory guidelines and responsibilities. Assist maintenance personnel with pump, motor, valve, etc., removal and repair. Maintain accurate records for timesheets.u00a0 Work scheduled day, nights, weekends and holidays for assigned shift. Project a positive image to operators, clients, regulatory agencies, engineers, etc. Qualifications SKILLS u2022Valid drivers license with good driving record. u2022Electrical and mechanical experience with the ability to recognize equipment failures. u2022Mathematical ability at the high school graduate level. u2022Professional demeanor and appearance. u2022Demonstrate evidence of good character, positive attitude, reliability and honesty. u2022Ability to work with others and to follow company policies, schedules, procedures, etc. u2022Ability to compile and interpret data. u2022Ability to communicate effectively with clients, company personnel, and regulatory personnel.u00a0 u2022Ability to work in all types of weather conditions. u2022Ability to determine odors and distinguish colors. u2022Ability to lift 50 lbs. u2022Ability to foresee mechanical equipment failure. u2022Ability to develop and follow a time schedule for assignments. u2022Ability to work in an efficient and safe manner. KNOWLEDGE u2022Ability to read and interpret documents such as company policies and procedures, O&M manuals, Safety rules and procedures, process flow diagrams & plans, etc. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. u2022Understand calculations and concepts that are industry related to process control and troubleshooting. EDUCATION u2022High school diploma u2022Additional trade specific courses preferred EXPERIENCE 3-5 Years CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES Must posses a valid driveru2019s license. Water Operatoru2019s certification issued by Arizona Department of Environmental Quality u2013 Grade 3 Water Treatment Plant Operator, or ability to obtain reciprocity PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
