JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Electrical Engineer is responsible for planning, design and oversight of the installation, operation and maintenance of electrical components, equipment and systems. They perform complex assignments often requiring development of new or improved products/processes/techniques. Assesses feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tests/products/equipment. The position requires an ability to interpret, on a broad basis, the principles, theories, and concepts of an engineering specialty. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Contributes to successful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard material, and difficult coordination requirements. Coordinates project activities with other operating or engineering units to facilitate participation of appropriate staff in project completion. Reviews project-related documentation to ensure its accuracy. Supports data package generation and reviews electronic files, wiring diagrams, drawings, and documents. Participates in professional organizations to maintain current knowledge of technical innovations. Assists in determining project objectives to contribute to the development of a comprehensive project design. Generates electrical schematics and BOM's with electronic hardware components for PCBs. Schematic capture in Altium. Provides guidance and direction for printed circuit board fabrication, inspection, assembly, test and troubleshooting. Reviews and analyzes design requirements for electronics packaging for system integration, interconnection, testability, manufacturability, maintainability and other specified parameters. Ensures system functions performed by PCBs and electronic packaging satisfy EMI/EMC requirements. Must be able to troubleshoot to discrete component level, establish failure trends, and resolution requirements using standard lab equipment (DVMs, O-Scopes, & WavGens). Performs other related duties as required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from four-year college or university; and at least five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred candidate will have working knowledge of PCBA layout and design practices with an ability to review existing designs (design ability not required). Preferred candidate will have experience with DO-254 (latest rev) certification requirements for airborne electrical hardware.
