HDR is in need of a Water Resources Engineer to join our team in Plymouth Meeting, PA. Primary duties will include technical investigation and analysis of various detailed studies and preparing reports relating to stormwater management, drainage system infrastructure, watershed planning and other environmental matters in the area of water resource management. They will provide hydrologic/hydraulic modeling support for stormwater improvement projects, master plans, flood studies, and similar water resource management projects. They will also provide design support in preparation of construction documents for public works projects, as well as specialized engineering input as required to other business groups on matters related to environmental engineering. They must keep abreast of new technologies and construction practices pertaining to stormwater, water supply infrastructure renewal, replacement and enhancement. They will also support and advise civil engineers and technical staff in other disciplines and sections, complete technical analysis, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with sub-consultants, support senior staff to maintain project schedules and budgets, and produce documents in accordance with project scopes and quality program procedures. They may also have periodic contact with clients regarding ongoing projects and tasks. This position may require occasional field construction inspection, and periodically working remotely within a project/program office co-located with client staff.','!*!Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
Master’s degree in Engineering is preferred.
8 years of diversified engineering experience in municipal engineering, with extensive experience in the planning, design and construction management of green stormwater infrastructure required. Experience with maintenance of stormwater systems including green stormwater infrastructure is a plus.
Experience in hydrology and hydraulics applications, design and analysis of stormwater management facilities, storm sewers and watersheds required.
Must have knowledge and experience in watershed management including erosion control, water quality, drainage collection system design, structural and non-structural stormwater BMP design. Knowledge of stream restoration is a plus.
Experience in the design of sanitary sewer systems and water supply and distribution systems is an asset.
Proficient knowledge in the use of Excel spreadsheet and database tools, including GIS. Use of AutoCAD for construction drawing development desired.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must.
Must have the ability to work cooperatively with varying teams and discipline areas.
