Directs and manages the day-to-day operations of 200MGD Water Purification Plant. Manages a large team of employees including Maintenance and Operation managers. Operates in compliance with Local, County, State and federal guidelines. Plant Manager will act as a liaison between Veolia and the City and have overall responsibility for all facility operations, maintenance and compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; develops and oversees employee work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and control; compiles and reviews timesheets; approves/processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; assists with or completes employee performance appraisals; directs work; acts as a liaison between employees and management; and trains staff in operations, policies, and procedures.
Organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work; prioritizes and schedules work activities in order to meet objectives; ensures that subordinates have the proper resources needed to complete the assigned work; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; consults with assigned staff to assist with complex/problem situations and provide technical expertise; provides progress and activity reports to management; and assists with the revision of procedure manuals as appropriate.
Manages and implements policies and procedures of Veolia in the direction and the operations of the plant personnel and facility; coordinates the activities of the facility with the development of Capital Improvement Projects; and coordinates plans and programs for the Operations and Maintenance of the facility.
Develops strategies, short-term and long-term goals and objectives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the water and wastewater operations; participates in the annual plant budgeting process and prepares standard reports as needed; and participates in project progress meetings to accomplish goals as needed.
Communicates with both Veolia Senior Management and City Staff as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems; and stays current on legal compliance and trends in the water industry and recommends training for subordinates and self-study.
Must reside within the City of Houston Metropolitan Area.
10 Years of Experience in the operations and management of large (50 MGD) Water Treatment Facilities
