HDR currently has an opening for a Water Resources EIT with an emphasis in roadway drainage to join our outstanding team of professionals in San Antonio, TX. The primary duties of the Water Resources/Roadway Drainage EIT includes working under project engineers on the various engineering planning, design and modeling tasks in the development of roadway drainage project deliverables for state and local municipal clients.
Specific duties include: hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, design of storm water infrastructure, data collection, and field reconnaissance.
Typical projects include: hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and design for flood mitigation, master drainage plans, water quality, erosion mitigation, stream restoration, dams and reservoirs, and transportation drainage projects.
Candidate will produce design calculations, perform analyses and design in GIS and CAD, and perform construction administration for water resources projects.
Candidate will also help prepare draft technical memorandums and reports, and public/client presentations.
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required
Knowledge of Hydrologic and Hydraulic models such as: HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS
Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Candidates must be able to prepare written technical reports, have excellent verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact with clients
Ability to effectively organize and complete multiple tasks in a schedule-sensitive environment
· Self-motivated, able to work both independently and with a project team to completion of a task
· An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
Master’s degree in Engineering
· Preference given to candidates local to Texas
· Experience with GIS, AutoCAD, Microstation, GeoPak and Inroads
· Full Time or Internship experience highly desirable.
