Job Description
The Internal Compliance Reporting Manager is responsible for monitoring project compliance with regulatory limits, communicating compliance results to regional leaders and senior management, tracking and reporting on KPI performance, participating in root cause analysis and corrective action reviews and providing training and guidance to project managers on reporting excursions. \r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\rResponsibilities\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\rMonitors and reports on drinking water and wastewater excursions and non-compliance events (progressively utilizing WIMS as data source)Validates completeness and accuracy of self-reported internal compliance dataProvides training and guidance to managers on classification of excursionsReviews compliance data submitted by project managers, including classification of excursions, root cause analysis and corrective action plans. Escalates questions and issues to Regional Management to ensure details of excursions and corrective actions are understood and explained appropriately. Tracks regional KPI performancePrepares month-end compliance and KPI reports for presentation to SLT and regional leadership with accompanying data and narrative analysisPeriodically reviews project O&M monthly reports with respect to reporting excursions to clientsCollects data on potential excursions and calculates performance dataProvides historical compliance data to support project renewal qualifications and risk assessmentsDevelops and communicates lessons learned from non-compliance events\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\rQualifications\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\rEducation/Experience:  BS degree and minimum of 10 years related experience in the water industry, preferably in water or wastewater operations or project management.  Experience in other functional areas, such as HSE, risk management, finance, or auditing, coupled with water industry experience, also acceptable.     Technical:  In-depth knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements for drinking water and wastewater.  Sufficient knowledge of operations and treatment processes to understand and challenge explanations for excursions and corrective actions.  Advanced working knowledge of Excel and understanding of database applications.  Experience with Hach WIMS is preferred.  Communication:  Communicates clearly, professionally and concisely; verbally and in writing.  Demonstrates strong report-writing skills with ability to summarize key issues and present data in a manner appropriate for different audiences, including senior management.  Builds relationships and maintains them through difficult communications.  Maintains composure in challenging situations.  Collaborates with others.  Seeks constructive feedback.  Promotes a culture of diversity, respect and accountability.  Constructively challenges others through productive discussion.Problem Solving & Quality:  Understands and values the importance of accuracy in regulatory compliance reporting.  Pays attention to detail and checks work for quality.  Able to analyze and connect information from multiple sources and apply reasoning to problem solving.  Skilled at listening and asking probing questions.  Managing For Results:  Works independently with minimal supervision.  Organized and able to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.  Meets time commitments for completing projects and assignments.  Demonstrates flexibility in workflow & scheduling.
