Job Description - Operations Manager, Corporate:
Reporting to the Vice President of Arizona Operations, the Operations Manager’s job duties will be divided between working with a team on business development pursuits and working with management leading business wide operational initiatives. Business development responsibilities will include facility/system due diligence and operational cost estimating and analysis. Tasks associated with operational initiatives will include developing operational policies, SOPs, and guidelines; preparing security assessments and emergency response plans; and reviewing and updating plant O&M manuals.
Some of the critical accountabilities for this role include: - providing strategic and operational input to business development pursuit and annual business plans, and ensuring that operational and financial targets are met or exceeded - working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure proper economic decisions can be made through due diligence - developing operational and capital expense budgets - preparing and presenting operational documents while working with all areas of the organization
A 4-year degree in Engineering, Science or Operations Management or related field is preferred but not required. 7-10 years of directly related experience in the water utility industry as a manager and leader is required. Extensive operational experience will be needed in production, distribution, treatment and collections. Experience in O&M contracting services will be helpful but not required. Additional requirements include: - budgeting and quantitative skills - computer expertise in Microsoft Office suite - outstanding management skills. - effective written and oral communications skills
